“Give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s and give to God the things that are God’s.”  -Mark 12:17

As people of faith we live in 2 worlds. One is this earthly world where the law of the land rules and governs us. There is power in place to ensure the law is upheld. The second world is the Kingdom world. We know the earthly world is not the end of the story. We know that despite the hardship of life and love the best is yet to come. Our hope is to live in the earthly world, while continually pointing to the Kingdom world. To God’s kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. To be bearers of hope in a sometimes hopeless world. To be beacons of love where hate and divisiveness resides, and to be courageous in a world raddled with fear.

We are often running so fast trying to keep up with schedules, deadlines, emails, and new opportunities. It can feel like our days are reactions to the demands of the immediate, the earthly world. What can we control? What do we own? And what controls and owns us? Come gather this Sunday at The Depot Church where all are invited to Pause the demands and distractions, Reflect on the words of freedom Jesus offers us, and Refuel with prayer, communion, and community to get your week started on the right foot. We are so excited about what God is doing at The Depot Church, and the space to worship together with God who loves us and invites us all to a space of grace. We can’t wait to see you Sunday.
